"Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes"

Psychotherapy is a space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in greater depth. We can begin to recognize how our history may be affecting the present and become better equipped to make choices that are not entangled with the past. The most important relationship we will work with, is the relationship you have with yourself.

About

My Approach

I use an integrative approach to psychotherapy, weaving together different elements from a variety of therapeutic lenses, acknowledging all theories have their value. The primary tenet of the model I trained in is relational and transpersonal. Each person is considered in their individual needs, circumstances and wholeness. My work draws from the following approaches : -psychodynamic/depth psychology: exploring the unconscious in order to understand how the past affects the present. -person-centered: creating a safe, accepting, and nonjudgmental space. -gestalt: focusing on experiencing the ‘here and now’ to better understand how we relate to ourselves and others. -attachment: examining early relational patterns and developing a reparative therapeutic relational environment -somatic: a form of body-centered therapy that looks at the connection of mind and body. The body can manifest mental unease and can also help heal it. -transpersonal: exploring experiences that lay beyond the confines of the individual “ego”. An approach that seeks to integrate the spiritual and transcendent aspects of the human experience with the framework of modern psychology. I have an ongoing study in Jungian theory to deepen my understanding of the transpersonal layers of the Self. Depending on what we are working on, we might keep a focused approach or use a deeper exploration of underlying patterns of behavior. The most important quality for relating to your experiences and your inner world, will be our shared commitment to this process with a nonjudgmental and curious attention. I think it is important to talk in person in order to see if my style and approach might be the best fit for your needs. Please reach out via text or email to set up a free consultation call. I look forward to meeting you.
